- To know the curricula areas in Primary Education, the interdisciplinary relationship between them, the assessment criteria and the body of didactic knowledge surrounding the teaching and learning procedures.
- To design, plan and assess teaching and learning processes, in agreement with the Educational Project of the school where he/she is working, individually or with other teachers or professionals in the centre.
- To deal efficiently with learning languages in multicultural and plurilingual contexts. To encourage reading and critical analysis of texts from different scientific and cultural dominions in the school’s curriculum.
- To design and regulate learning spaces and materials in contexts of diversity, that attend to gender equality, equity and the respect of human rights that satisfy the values of citizenship education in both formal and non formal contexts.
- To encourage the coexistence both inside and outside the classroom, to resolve disciplinary problems and contribute to the peaceful resolution of conflicts. To stimulate and value the effort, the perseverance and personal discipline of the students.
- To know about the organisation of Elementary schools and the diverse actions that comprises their optimal running. To fulfil tutorship, guide the students and families and attend the students’ particular educational needs. To be aware of the fact that the teaching profession needs to constantly be improved and adapted to the scientific, pedagogic and social changes that occur during our lifetime. Â
- To collaborate with the different sectors of the educational community and social environment. To assume the educational dimension of the teaching profession and to encourage democratic education for active citizenship.
- To maintain a critical and autonomous relationship with knowledge, values and public and private social institutions.
- To value the individual and collective responsibility in the achievement of a sustainable future.
- To reflect on the teaching practice in the classroom to innovate and improve the teaching task. To acquire habits and skills to foster autonomous and cooperative learning among the students.

- To comprise the function, the possibilities, the influence and the limits of education in current society and the fundamental competences that affect Elementary schools and their professionals. To know about the possible models to improve the quality of educational centres.
- To know the essential contents of religious culture, faith and Christian life and the important role of the teacher in developing faith and Christian commitment in the students.
